The Jack Russell terrier, who was taken from a home in Bayonne on Monday, July 24, was found safe and returned to his family on Wednesday, July 26 at 772 Avenue C, Bayonne Police Capt. Eric Amato said.

Rocco was taken by a group of people while on his front porch at 41st Street and Avenue E, Amato said. The suspects then boarded a Hudson-Bergen Light Rail train at the 45th Street station (Bayonne) bound for Hoboken with Rocco, Amato said. Once at the Hoboken stop, the suspects boarded a PATH train and exited at the 14th Street stop in Manhattan, Amato said.

Amato did not say how they found the dog or what, if any, charges will be filed.
